I am almost a Barista! September 8, 2007

This past week I began my new job at Starbucks! Yes, I know that it could be a scary thing. I spent enough time there as it is, but now I work there too. I might as well just set up a bed in the back because I don’t know when I won’t be there. : )

It has been an interesting week of training.

Intersting fact #1: There are 3 people that I know at the store I am now employed. One girl from highschool, one girl my mom used to watch her and her brother when we were younger and one girl was my sisters best freind when they were little girls.

Interesting fact # 2: It takes a certain shake pour method to pour a frappucino. As I attempted to pour the first frappucino I made inot the cup I accidentaly poured it on the counter and my shoes instead.  I have now, I am happy to say, mostly learned the technique.

Interesting fact # 3: When people learn that you work at Starbucks, you suddenly have many best friends that hope as your best friend they are entitled to a lot of free coffee.

All in all my first week of training has gone pretty well. It is frustrating at times because I just like to know what I am doing, but there is a lot to learn so I don’t know everything yet. Currently I know how to run the lobby register and make cold beverages. Next week I get to learn hot beverages and drive thru register. I can’t wait because after that I will be a certified barista! Yeah!  If you are ever in the area of the store on 136th & Colorado, stop in and visit! But remember I suddenly have a lot of best friends so there is no promise of free coffee. : )

Verse for the Day… June 11, 2007

My Grandma sent this verse in an e-mail that was talking about my cousin who was in a terrible car accident. God protected her and she is now in rehab and will have a tough road to recovery, but she WILL recover. God is good! Hope this verse is an encouragement to you, it was to me.

Psalm 16:5, 8, 11

Calling all Reese’s Fans! March 21, 2007

Today, I discovered the most amazing snack food ever! So amazing in fact that this is what I decided to discuss in my post that will end my very long blogging drought. This snack combines all of my favorite Reese’s items in one, it is the Reese’s Snacksters.

 Not only does this snack include Reese’s Pieces, my favorite candy, but it also has cereal puffs, peanut butter chips & cereal squares. It is like trail mix, but with an amazing peanut butter taste! I know what you are thinking– how can it get any better? But it does!Each bag only contains 100 calories and there is 0 grams of trans fat. So even all you health conscious people out there can enjoy this tasty treat without feeling guilty! So go out and get yourself a box of Reese’s Snacksters and see what you think. I got mine at Target, but I am sure they can be found at any local grocery store. Happy Snacking! : )

Well, I have not taken the blogging world by storm yet. I admire all you faithful bloggers out there. I hope to someday become one myself, but clearly that is going to take time. Hopefully I will write some words of wisdom soon…..
