I read a very interesting article in Relevant magazine today. It was talking about Young Evangelists, ages 20-35, and how they have taken the political world by storm. In this article there was an interesting quote by Kansas Congressman Jim Slattery:

“There is a vast gulf between the message of Jesus and the political agenda of the conservative movement in America. Young Evangelists need to look at the message of Jesus and count the number of New Testament references to homosexuality and abortion and compare those passages to Jesus’ teachings on caring for the poor. I believe if we dealt with poverty in this country, we might actually dramatically reduce the abortion rate”.

As voting day nears, I ask you how do you decide how you are going to vote on an issue? Do you always vote republican or democrat or do you take time to look at the issue? Does your faith play a part in your voting decisions? Do you think it should?
